Hey – I hope everyone had a happy and fun Thanksgiving! I did! Spent the afternoon watching the Lions lose – was at Ford Field for the game! It was a yawner of a game, but still great to be there for the Thanksgiving tradition! This is the 2nd game I’ve been to at Ford Field, the last one was 2 years ago (pics of that are still on my site, and I’ll have pics from today’s too later sometime… when I get to it… lol)… Today I was going to take my son, but that didn’t work out, unfortunately. Instead I took my buddy Randy – and we had a great time. The first half we had seats in the end zone, 3rd level, then after half-time we switched with my cousins and sat on the 50 yard line about 25 rows from the field. Great vantage point to watch the Lions lose!!! Yes, the score was a miserable 41 Colts – 9 Lions… Pathetic!!!

After the game I took Randy home, then went to my aunt’s … had dinner, and now I’m at home and gonna watch a movie I rented, THX-1138… George Lucas’ first movie that was re-released on DVD a month or so ago… I think I watched it long ago, and I enjoyed it – looking forward to the DVD version…

That’s about it! Looking forward to the rest of the weekend, Birthday for my nephew who turned one yesterday, and birthday stuff for me this weekend, and I turn 35! Woo hoo!

Ok – quick post/update… I got my contacts… I wanted to get daily wears, but they were out of stock – so ended up paying the extra $60 for disposables, and that’s probably the best – considering I wear the hell out of my daily wears… I mean, I stretched the last pair I had out 3 YEARS! Needless to say, the doc said I was very lucky that I didn’t have an infection or something worse… Oh well, live and learn – and now I have disposables (or I will, when I pick up the rest of the pairs next week), and I’ll have a new pair to wear every 2 weeks or so… yippee!

You should always listen to your inner voice… I should have yesterday, and because I didn’t I’m paying for it today! Yesterday at work, I said to myself, I should take the afternoon off and get my eyes checked out and get new contacts… Well, that evening, as I was driving to a friends, my left eye started bothering me… Itching… so of course, I rubbed it. After a little while, it continued but got worse, and then I felt my contact slide off the front of my eye and to the side… OWCH. (All this while I’m driving!) So I worked on getting it out of my eye, after about 10 minutes or so, I finally did. At the next light I looked at it, and there was 1/4 of it missing! I then realized, IT WAS STILL IN MY EYE! Shit!! So I continued to try to get that part out also, and finally did after about 20 minutes of trying. Needless to say, my eye was quite red and irritated. But during dinner it did get better…

So now, I’m here getting ready to go to the doctor’s and make sure I didn’t scratch my eye, and also to get new contacts… Why didn’t I listen to myself yesterday?!?!

2 weeks from today, I’ll be reaching the big 35… Ugh. But I think it’s time that I take another step in my life, and change things again… Version 3.5, I like to think of it as… When I reached version 3.0, I made many changes – and most of them are active now, and I feel that I’m a better person because of these changes. Now, at 3.5, I am planning on making more changes. Some immediate, some might take the course of the next 5 years… But I’m making changes. I’m using my 35th birthday as a kick in the ass to reach the “next level”.

What sort of changes, you may ask? You’ll just have to wait and see… I try not to be all public, to anyone, about the changes I plan to make…

However, what changes did I make for version 3.0? That I can tell you about…

I told myself that I would be more outgoing, positive, friendly, worry less, work on not being concerned about what others think about me, nd become the man I want to be. This is still going on, but I think it’s going well enough that I can concentrate on other areas and continue this change as well. Starting to sing Karaoke probably was the best thing I did to help this – I’ve noticed in myself that I have no problem going in front of people I don’t even know and belting out a song with my heart… In fact, I would have no problem going to a brand new bar, not knowing anyone, and singing all night long. I hope that one day I can even be part of a band – I’ve sung with a band many times in the last year, but I’d like to do it as a member, not a ‘guest singer’…

I also wanted to be less work oriented – and I did this change last year. Yes, I am very devoted to my job, but I no longer have a job where I am under the type of stress I once had, and working for the boss which thinks that one’s job should come before all other things in your life.

Sure I’ve stumbled along the way, some things never go as planned. But I feel the last 5 years of my life have been a major change from the 10-15 years before 3.0, and a complete change for the better.

So watch out – I’m making more improvements, more tweaks in the operating system, more upgrades and rebuilds… And it will be all for the better!
